For everyday life safety, practice basic situational awareness: always scan your exits, lock doors immediately upon entry, keep your phone charged, trust your gut feelings, and avoid distractions like looking at your phone while walking or sitting in a parked car.
Keep your head up: Do not stare at your phone or wear both earbuds while walking or jogging outside.
Scan for exits: Walk with confidence, know where you are going, and mentally note escape routes in buildings.
Trust your instincts: If a person, elevator, or room gives you a bad feeling, turn around and leave immediately.
Drive smart: Never sit parked and distracted on social media. If you think someone is following your car, do not drive home; call 911 and head to the nearest police station.
Never use water on a grease fire: As there is a consensus on Quora, smother grease flames with a metal lid, baking sheet, or a large amount of baking soda instead of water.
Check your detectors: Test smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors twice a year.
Lock up: Make a habit of locking your exterior doors the second you step inside your home.
Know the stroke signs: Remember the BE FAST acronym (Balance, Eyes, Face, Arm, Speech, Time) to spot a stroke early and call emergency services.
Protect your identity: Avoid saying your sensitive personal information or home address out loud at public counters like pharmacies or doctor's offices; write it down or show your ID instead.
