S18E7 - Ignorance or Stupidity
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
While ignorance is a temporary lack of knowledge or information that can be cured through education, stupidity generally implies a baseline limitation in mental capacity, poor judgment, or the refusal to apply known facts.
Key Differences
Ignorance (A gap in data): An ignorant person simply hasn’t been exposed to the facts or teachings yet. Everyone is ignorant about many specialized topics (like quantum physics or neurosurgery) until they study them. As the saying goes, "ignorance can be fixed".
Stupidity (A flaw in processing or choice): A stupid person either struggles to grasp consequences and logic or actively ignores obvious information despite having it. It involves poor decision-making or a resistance to reasoning.
Ignorance: Not knowing a fact or topic. Can be fixed by learning and reading.Everyone is ignorant about something new.
Stupidity: Having a low mental capacity or poor judgment.Harder or impossible to fix just by giving facts. Doing something foolish even when the facts are clear.
